Profile / Experience
I joined Duncan Lewis in August 2016 in the Child Care and Family department as a caseworker, and began my training contract in September 2017. I am based in the firm's Harrow office and have gained a wide range of experience as a result of having a 'hands on' approach since the outset of my legal career.
I have experience in family and children law, of which have either had a contentious or non-contentious element. I assist in numerous matrimonial matters, including divorce, civil partnership dissolution and financial remedies. I also have significant experience in dealing with finances, having been involved with highly complex financial matters and appeals. I frequently represent clients who have a third party interest, which is also known as intervenes in their application within financial remedy proceedings.
I have represented vulnerable clients in obtaining injunctive orders which has been either ex-parte or on notice, these applications are called a non-molestation Order or Occupational order. I also have experience in Private Children Act applications such as Prohibited Steps Order, Specific Issue Orders and Child Arrangement orders (with whom the child should live and the time the child spends with each parent).
My expertise in public child care law includes assisting vulnerable clients with learning difficulties and victims of domestic abuse. I have assisted in child care cases representing parents or children (through their guardian) in cases of emotional or physical neglect; sexual abuse and non-accidental injury. I have attended pre-proceedings and child protection meetings with the clients held by Children’s Services.
Further, I have previous work experience in litigation and residential/commercial conveyancing having worked at other London firms.
I pride myself in providing a service that is personal to each client and is committed to ensuring all avenues are fully explored.
I enjoy giving back to the community through fundraising. In 2015 I had lead a group of peers to participate in the London Legal Walk and St Albans Legal Walk. I also participate yearly, in donating to local food banks for the less fortunate families providing them with food and clothes.
