Marilyn Edwards

I am a Supervisor and Solicitor in the Family Law Department at Duncan Lewis and represent clients in all aspects of Family Law matters.

I specialise in divorce matters, low to medium and high net worth financial remedies following divorce, cohabitation disputes, civil partnerships and pre-nuptial agreements, domestic violence as well as private children act matters.

I provide a flexible service and offer clients sound legal advice on a practical basis and work to nothing but the highest standard. I make a point of getting a good understanding of my client and their individual vulnerabilities, concerns, needs and wishes. Consequently, clients are the most important focus of my work and I seek to ensure that they are fully engaged in the work that I undertake on their behalf so they understand at all times what is happening, and what they can realistically expect. I am approachable and because of this clients feel at ease with me and my solid determination tends to ensure the outcome is good for my clients.

I find my work incredibly rewarding, and never take for granted the fact that I am dealing with real people in real life situations which require my complete dedication. I always seek to ensure the best outcome that I can, whilst considering the commercial cost to the client in doing so.

I undertake the majority of my own advocacy where I can, and often appear before District, Circuit, High Court Judges and Magistrates.

• Representing Petitioner wife in complex financial dispute application involving the Respondent attempting dissipate family matrimonial assets to frustrate petitioners claim for a financial remedy.


• Representing a mother in a complex medical case involving alleged fabricated illness in children/


• Representing father in relation to private law proceedings involving a respondent who was implacably hostile towards father having contact with the children.


• Representing a father in care proceedings accused of domestic violence and of administering alcohol to his young child, securing placement of the child with the father.


• Representing a mother who lacked capacity by virtue of enduring mental health difficulties in care proceedings.
