I joined Duncan Lewis Solicitors in July 2017 as a Caseworker in the Public Law Team and currently focus on Court of Protection matters. Primarily my work involves assisting family members or representatives acting on behalf of vulnerable individuals with matters under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Such cases involve decision-making relating to clients' health and social care, property and financial matters, as well as s21 A proceedings which challenge Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS). My role also involves attending court hearings and liaising with IMCAs, RPRs and the Official Solicitor. With a background in Politics, I hold a keen interest in Human Rights and Immigration and look forward to working towards the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum Accreditation. From this September, I intend to study the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law with the aim of later qualifying as a Public Law solicitor.
