Awards Recommendation for Lottie Hume
Modern Law Awards 2019 - Paralegal of the Year - 'Highly Commended'
Other 2019 Edition.
/ Modern Law Awards
I joined Duncan Lewis in June 2017 as a caseworker in the Public Law department. Most of the work I undertake is assisting solicitors with judicial review matters, particularly challenging the lawfulness of detention, decisions to certify asylum claims and decisions to remove asylum-seekers.
I came to Duncan Lewis through my work at Women Against Rape, where I continue to volunteer. At this women’s centre, I help UK citizens and refugees fight for their legal rights, while upholding WAR’s self-help philosophy that ensures women remain central to their own cases. I campaign for changes to the justice system, in particular the treatment of vulnerable witnesses. I am committed to human rights and supporting people throughout their cases.
I hope to qualify as a solicitor, specialising in immigration and asylum law.
I was 'Highly Commended’ for Paralegal of the Year at the 2019 Modern Law Awards.
