I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Public Law and Immigration department at Duncan Lewis. I represent clients in their underlying protection claims and across a broad range of judicial reviews including challenges to unlawful detention, negative trafficking decisions and breaches of human rights.
I have extensive experience in working with victims of gender and sexual based violence and I am committed to supporting people through their cases. I campaign for changes to the justice system, in particular, the treatment of vulnerable witnesses.
I have been heavily involved in a number of systemic challenges to the policies of the Secretary of State for the Home Department, including (1) the permission to work policy for asylum seekers; (2) the accommodation of asylum seekers at Penally Camp and Yarl’s Wood; (3) the lawfulness of the immigration bail policy; (4) the ‘lock-in’ policy of detainees at Brook House IRC; (4) the previous section 4 accommodation regime; and (5) the sharing of information between the police and the Home Office.
I have a particular interest in developing novel and complex areas of law, including the use of artificial intelligence by government bodies.
I was awarded ‘Highly Commended’ for Paralegal of the Year at the 2019 Modern Law Awards.
