I am based in the Lewisham branch as a caseworker in both the family and childcare departments. I specialise in childcare matters and have particular expertise in private cases involving domestic violence.
My current role in Duncan Lewis includes assisting solicitors with interviewing clients, preparing applications to court, drafting written statements, organising bundles and attending court as the legal advocate for hearings.
I cover all areas of family law including public and private law Children Act 1989 proceedings and cases under the Family Law Act 1996. I can assist clients with contact and residence arrangements of children, divorces, finances, care proceedings and protective orders.
Prior to joining Duncan Lewis, I gained invaluable experience in Public Law proceedings, working within Children’s Social Services as a CAADA qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advocate. I have expert-level understanding of the dynamics of power and control and how this can lead to clients losing care of their children.
Within my previous role I was the sole point of contact for social workers in the Local Authority when there was a victim or perpetrator of high risk domestic violence. I have advised clients and advocated for clients at Child in Need meetings and Child Protection Conferences. I have also assisted clients with representation at MARAC, obtaining housing transfers, child arrangement orders and urgent protective orders, such as non-molestation orders, occupation orders and prohibited steps orders.
Outside of work I enjoy reading, cooking and travelling.
