Profile / Experience
I joined the Family team at Duncan Lewis Solicitors in June 2021. Since then, I have assisted with a variety of public and private child law matters under the supervision of my director, Forida Hakim, and solicitor, Maria Olivia Dennis.
In public child law matters, I typically work with respondent parents where Local Authorities have issued care proceedings. I also assist clients with Public Law Outline (PLO) matters, which is the process a Local Authority initiates in an attempt to avoid intiating care proceedings. On the private child law side, I work with parents who are either applying for or responding to applications for Child Arrangements Orders in respect of their child(ren).
Prior to joining Duncan Lewis, I gained extensive experience in family law through volunteering as an advisor in two family law advice clinics and working as a legal assistant to a family barrister. I have also marshalled with a High Court Judge in the Family Court at Luton and shadowed numerous family barristers as a mini-pupil.
I completed the Bar Practice Course in 2020-21 and plan to qualify and practise as a barrister upon successful completion of pupillage.
