Profile / Experience
I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Family and Child Care department at the firm’s Dalston branch under the supervision of Director, Emine Mehmet.
I advise and assist in Private Law children cases, Child protection matters, Care proceedings, Inherent jurisdiction, Divorce, Ancillary relief and Domestic Violence matters. I regularly represent my clients at court, obtaining Non Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders where required.
Although I often act for privately paying clients, I predominantly assist clients funded by legal aid and am able to fully advise pre-first appointment whether an individual is eligible for legal aid dependent on their financial resources and legal situation. For those that cannot afford to pay and are not eligible for legal aid, I volunteer as one of the family law advisers at our weekly Pro Bono sessions on Tuesdays and I also undertake advice sessions with domestic violence agencies such as Solace Women's Aid.
I commenced my training contract on 1 December 2016, I have completed my first seat in Child Care Law and am currently doing my second seat in Family Law. I am expected to complete my training contract in November 2018.
I am fluent in Albanian and can communicate effectively for those who struggle with English.
