When the Local Authority considers that court proceedings are necessary, or will be necessary on the birth of the child, it will send a letter of issue to the parents. The letter will inform parents that proceedings are being issued and that they should seek legal advice urgently.
When you receive a letter of issue, you must read the letter carefully and ensure that you are aware of the contents and the concerns of the Local Authority. It is very important that you seek legal advice as soon as possible after you receive the letter. Any delay in seeking legal advice may impact upon proceedings.
