Police have arrested a seventh man in connection with the murder of a football fan outside Wembley Stadium. A 41-year-old has been detained in Worcestershire on suspicion of the murder of the Welsh football fanatic. Forty-four-year-old Michael Dye was found injured on the evening of September the 6th before the England vs. Wales Euro 2012 qualifier match kicked off. Mr. Dye was taken to Northwick Park Hospital where he later died of his injuries. A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death to be blunt trauma sustained to the back of the head. Police arrested six men in connection with the murder. All were released without charge.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Sheila Stewart of the Metropolitan Police has called for the help of the public in providing evidence of the incident. A dedicated Facebook page has been created to pay tribute to Mr Dye. Thousands of messages have been left on the site, many referring to Mr. Dye’s wife, Nathalie, and their children. Cardiff City’s chief executive officer, Gethin Jenkins, described Mr. Dye as a "committed and passionate supporter" and said that the news of his death was "extremely sad" for all involved.
