Duncan Lewis, Legal News Solicitors, Housing Association obtains six ASB against one family

Housing association Gloucester City Homes (GCH) has succeeded in obtaining six Anti-social Behaviour (ASB) injunctions against members of the same family at Gloucester Crown Court.

Online housing publisher 24Dash.com reports that it is only the third occasion that six ASB have been obtained at the same time.

The housing association took action after incidents of anti-social behaviour and noise nuisance were reported at the family’s home – including shouting, bad language and fighting.

The court heard that there had also been issues with “numerous animals” being kept at the property – as well as fly-tipping in the local area.

The ASB have prevented two males from visiting the property. The tenant and her partner and adult siblings are also subject to strict prohibitions.

Gloucester City Homes said that numerous attempts to resolve the issues had been made before legal action was taken against the tenant.

Senior ASB officer at GCH, Charlotte Newman, said:

“We are very pleased with this result – and hope the injunctions and exclusions put a stop to such long-standing nuisance.

“Our priority is to ensure our tenants and local residents are able to live peacefully in their homes.

“If this means that legal action is required to tackle those that behave anti-socially, then that is the action we will take.”

ASB manager at the housing association, Sara Hendry, added:

“This is a final opportunity for the tenant and her family members to behave in an acceptable manner so they can remain in the property.

“We will take any breaches of the injunctions very seriously and commence proceedings to take back possession of the property if required.”
