Derby City Council's Community Safety Team has teamed up with Arriva Buses to spread the word about online safety.
The council said that an estimated one in ten people were victims of cyber crime in 2016.
Safer Derby runs two campaigns to advise residents of cyber safety - Stay Safe Online and Lock Up Online.
Stay Safe Online offers advice regarding social media safety, cyber bullying, child Internet safety, sexting, online romance and dating fraud, and online gaming advice.
Lock Up Online advises residents about online banking fraud, online shopping, password protection, firewall protection - and current national and local scams.
The council's Community Safety team said:
"It is so important that we help inform and educate people in Derby about the dangers of cyber crime.
"Cyber crime is a growing problem in the UK - and it is crucial that we raise awareness of cyber crime to prevent people becoming an easy target."
