Kevin Fox, 45, who had a dangerous criminal record, has been accused of repeatedly harassing Michael Hall the husband of Natasha, daughter of Michael Caine by visiting at Mr Hall’s offices and the couple’s home. Natasha was so terrified that her hair turned white a court heard yesterday.
Fox a debt collector had first turned up at Mr Hall’s offices in Victoria, Central London, on February 9 this year.
He was said to be acting for a client who claimed a company part-owned by Mr Hall owed £67,000 to him. Which has been denied by Mr Hall?
He visited the multi millionaire property developer’s office a couple of times, in which he was said to have made violent threats, the court heard then he turned up at the couple’s home in Wimbledon.
Although Natasha and her husband, who have three children, were out, it had a frightening impact on the family, the court heard.
Mr Hall, who is seeking damages and an injunction against Fox, and faced the man at the high court and told the court that Fox’s unsolicited visit to their home on February 29 while builders were at work was ‘very, very upsetting’.
Mr Hall told Fox, who was representing himself that he had been putting considerable pressure on him and his family. He also told him that his wife’s hair had nearly gone white ever since he walked into their house.
In a statement about the visit Mr Hall added that Fox had intimidated the builders who were working on site and took it upon himself to walk around the premises, while uttering further threats of violence to the point that one of the contractors decided to leave, in fear of their own personal safety.
Fox had then allegedly said to have sought to know the layout of the property for future reference which Mr Hall said was a clear case of intimidation which caused concern about his and his personal safety.
Fox told the court it was ‘wholly untruthful’ that he entered the couple’s home, and said the house was ‘a derelict building site’ at the time.
Mr Hall retorted that it was a building site, and it was their home. Fox, who denies the civil harassment claim, was jailed for seven years in 2004 for theft and possession of a firearm with intent after he and two other men stole £1.4million in gold bars from bullion firm Johnson Matthey.
Mr Hall’s barrister told the High Court that his claimant said he owed no debt at all and under the circumstances the conduct of the defendant amounted harassment which had no excuse.
