Profile / Experience
I am a Solicitor in the Crime Department at Duncan Lewis and based at the company’s Dalston branch in East London. I act in a broad range of criminal defence matters for both privately funded and publicly funded (legal aid) clients across Greater London. I regularly provide representation at Police Stations and am experienced in representing defendants across a varied Magistrates’ and Crown Court caseload, including the most serious allegations including murder, large scale drug offence, fraud and sexual violence. As a Law Society Police Station Accredited Representative I am able to assist clients at the police station throughout England at any time.
Recently, I assisted with an acquittal of a young girl facing an allegation of conspiracy to kidnap. This involved working closely with both client and Counsel. I had also assisted with several acquittals in both respective Magistrates’ Court and Crown Courts’ including one instance of ABH where client was acquitted on technicalities.
I am a keen, dedicated and passionate Solicitor, merging my interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients efficiently and effectively.
I previously worked in the Actions against Public Authorities department at Duncan Lewis, issuing civil claims against various public authorities including the Police and the Ministry of Justice in cases included but not limited to false imprisonment, misfeasance and assault/battery. This has assisted my crime clients’ in determining whether their arrest was lawful and to determine whether in fact they have a civil claim against a particular authority- including the police.
I am committed to representing the most vulnerable and regularly participate in London based pro-bono work, which includes presenting to and engaging with young people and prisoners in explaining the legal implications and principles regarding crimes.
