Profile / Experience
I am a proactive and passionate solicitor in the Housing department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I work under the supervision and direction of Dianne Cowie.
I deal with a wide variety of cases under both private and legal aid funding. My legal aid work includes handling social housing matters including homelessness and loss of home, risks to health and safety in a rented property as a result of disrepair or landlord negligence, issues involving anti-social behaviour, and protection from harassment.
In addition to the publicly funded (legal aid) work I carry out, I also assist privately paying clients. I handle disputes between neighbours and landlords and tenants including boundary, contractual and service charge disputes. I also have expertise advising clients on matters involving bankruptcy and licensing by preparing defences and/or counter claims and in assisting in preparation for a hearing. I also have expertise in unlawful eviction cases and injunctions.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and prior to this undertook my training contract at Duncan Lewis with seats in housing, employment, and criminal defence matters.
