Job Description:
You will be joining an established team of 30 Costs Lawyers/ Draftsmen with offices nationwide to assist and support billing process and recovery to the legal profession.
Main Responsibilities of the Role
- Preparing legal aid claim 1 and claim 1a bills
- Preparing Claim 2 bills
- Preparing breakdowns for negotiation
- Preparing estimates in support of Allocation and Pre-Trial questionnaires
- Preparing N260 forms ( Statement of Costs)
- Auditing phase based time recording on matters subject to budgeting process
- Preparing documents in support of Notice of Commencement for service
- Preparing papers to accompany N258 form ( Request for Detailed Assessment)
- Preparing itemised bundles to support costs claim at Detailed Assessment
- Archiving files when required
- Liaising with external Cost Lawyers when necessary
- Assisting Costs Lawyer with day to day activities and tasks as required
- Maintaining spreadsheets capturing relevant data
- working with other Cost Lawyers, Cost Draftsmen
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties as requested

- Good analytical and organisational skills and ability to use own initiative but know when to seek guidance

- Good IT Skills -familiar with Microsoft Office applications and
document management skills
