Podcast: where are we at with legal aid for immigration appeals? (Free Movement) (6 November 2020)

Sonia Lenegan from the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA) discusses the legal action carried out by Duncan Lewis Solicitors to combat the government’s adjusted legal aid arrangements for cases lodged under a new online appeal system. “Duncan Lewis [Solicitors] approached us about wanting to take legal action based on a lack of consultation that had taken place…it was hard work but it was really so good to have everyone working together so well and it really made an impact in terms of the success that we were able to have and at an early stage.”
