MPs are warning that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) need to urgently resolve the Right to Remain issue for Commonwealth veterans after the Royal Navy became the latest force to be pulled into the immigration row, The Telegraph reports. Mark Waiganjo served in the Royal Navy as a medic for seven years and has accused the MoD of failing to inform him of the correct procedures he was required to follow in order to process his immigration status to permanent residency in the UK. His lawyer, immigration director Vinita Templeton comments that his case also has the “insurmountable” cost of application fees on top, which for himself, his wife and two young children would cost nearly £10,000.
