BBC’s Outside Source discussed the recent government and media attacks on lawyers representing asylum seekers which undermine the rule of law. The programme focused on the immigration lawyers who are handling such cases, why their work is lawful, and the impact the comments and media articles have had, quoting our statement; “…lawyers experience abusive behaviour and receive abhorrent and threatening messages online daily for simply trying to do their job and be a voice for the most vulnerable: victims of torture, victims of trafficking and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
