Duncan Lewis, InThePress Solicitors, Asylum seeker to sue Home Office after falling ill with Covid-19 (The Guardian)

An asylum seeker who became infected with Covid-19 after an outbreak in his accommodation – despite assurances from the Home Office that he would not be at risk from the virus there – is taking legal action against the government. Isabella Kirwan who is part of the Duncan Lewis public law team representing the man bringing the challenge says; ”Residents of Urban House are at grave risk of contracting Covid-19. It is clear that they are unable to properly protect themselves in conditions that are manifestly unsafe. The Home Office has yet again failed an extremely vulnerable group of individuals.”
