Profile / Experience
I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Public Law and Immigration Department at Duncan Lewis.
Since joining Duncan Lewis in April 2016 as a caseworker, I have acquired significant experience dealing cases involving private immigration, asylum and human rights, immigration detention and challenges by way of judicial review. I have assisted in high profile judicial review claims challenging the unlawful removal of asylum seekers to Third Countries under the Dublin III Regulations.
I specialise in private immigration including in relation to applications under the Immigration Rules (e.g Family / Spouse Visa) and the European Economic Area (EEA) Regulations (Permanent Residence / EEA Family Permit). Further, I also work with vulnerable clients, including those in detention and victims of torture, funded under Legal Aid.
I am a member of the Pro Bono Clinic, providing pro bono advice to vulnerable clients.
I am accredited as a Level 2 Caseworker under the Law Society's Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme which means I have demonstrated the required level of knowledge and experience in this area of law as defined by the Law Society.
