Profile / Experience
I am a Caseworker in the Public Law Department at Duncan Lewis in Birmingham. I work under the direct supervision of Public Law Director, Ahmed Aydeed.
I assist in a variety of judicial review claimant matters, including challenges to decisions of the Secretary of State for the Home Department to unlawfully detain and remove claimants. I have assisted in a number of cases involving vulnerable individuals, including human rights challenges against public bodies for failing to refer victims of trafficking to the National Referral Mechanism and challenges against the Home Office for failing to provide detainees with medical examinations.
While my work predominantly involves Public Law challenges, I am also accredited as a Trainee Casework Assistant under the Law Society's Immigration and Asylum Accreditation scheme.
Alongside my work at Duncan Lewis, I volunteer as an Associate Editor at online human rights charity, RightsInfo and work as an expert consultant for the Council for Penological Co-operation of the Council of Europe.
