Profile / Experience

I am a consultant solicitor-advocate with Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I work exclusively in criminal defence and have done so for over ten years.

I firmly believe in a personal approach to representing clients. I deal with all of my own cases personally and I am a very hands on advocate in those that I am instructed upon. I believe that consistency of representation is very important when people are facing potentially life changing charges. As a litigator I have substantial experience in dealing with serious crime, fraud and sexual offences. I have listed a few recent examples below. I have dealt with high profile, lengthy serious criminal cases. I work closely with senior barristers to ensure the correct advocate is always chosen for the correct case.

As an advocate my speciality is in dealing with the following types of cases;
  • Offences arising from football matches. I regularly deal with contested football banning order applications. A number of the cases that I have dealt with have been reported in the press.
  • Driving offences, particularly drink driving offences. I regularly appear in both the Magistrates' Court and Crown Court.
  • Defendant's with mental health problems. The criminal law on mental health is very outdated ad is important to me that those with mental health problems are treated fairly by the Court system.

  • Qualified as solicitor on the 15th December 2011.

Notable Cases

  • R v - Meech - Willesden Magistrates Court - 2015 - This is an example of the strange cases that are prosecuted in relation to football matches. A banning order application was not imposed.
