Profile / Experience
I am a caseworker in the Public Law department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors.
I am based at the City of London office and work with a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers under the supervision of director Bahar Ata.
As a caseworker, I assist with the daily case progression and third-party correspondence on a variety of immigration, asylum and human rights matters, including asylum appeals and judicial review challenges. Amongst the work I have recently undertaken include challenges to the Secretary of State for the Home Department over unlawful deportation and detention, removals to unsafe countries that are not on the European Common List of Safe Countries of Origin, and unlawful revocation of Indefinite Leave to Remain and Citizenship.
Whilst studying the LPC, I undertook pro bono shifts at St Hilda's Community Centre, noting down client cases in housing, employment and consumer matters. I also contributed to BPP's Human Rights Unit blog, writing articles on the plight of the Uyghurs in Xinjiang Province.
