Elliot Chappell

I am a solicitor in the public law department at Duncan Lewis. I have experience assisting vulnerable clients across a range of public law issues, including representing individuals with challenges in connection with:

• Unlawful detention;
• Removals;
• Asylum support;
• Trafficking decisions;
• Fresh claims and refusals to accept the same; and
• Unlawful delays in a range of decision-making processes by the Home Office.

I am accredited as a Level 2 Senior Caseworker under the Law Society's Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme, and also have experience in immigration work. This has included representing clients in making applications for asylum, including fresh claims, as well as applications for family reunion and temporary permission to stay as a victim of trafficking. I have experience representing clients in immigration appeals and bail applications to the First-tier Tribunal.

• Prior to joining Duncan Lewis, I started my legal career as a paralegal with Lawstop Solicitors. I completed my training contract and was admitted as a solicitor in 22 January 2025.
