Profile / Experience
I am a Caseworker in the Public Law department at Duncan Lewis, working under the supervision of director Toufique Hossain. I joined the team in September 2020 and have predominantly worked on unlawful removal cases.
I came to Duncan Lewis through my work at Asylum Welcome in Oxford. At Asylum Welcome, I helped asylum seekers and refugees navigate their lives in the UK. Most often this would mean helping to apply for financial support, register for housing and find legal assistance. I helped provide support to the most vulnerable clients who ended up in our office with nowhere else to go.
I have also interned at Turpin and Miller LLP, where I assisted with a range of cases, the majority being ILR as a victim of domestic violence cases and asylum applications and appeals.
I volunteered for Lifting Hands International at a Yezidi only refugee camp in Serres, Northern Greece for 5 months in 2019. I worked with an inspirationally energetic team, providing psychosocial support to the residents of the camp through all kind of activities such as art classes, dance classes, education and yoga.
