Profile / Experience
I am a Solicitor working in the Immigration department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I work under director Zofia Duszynska.
I deal with a variety of asylum and immigration related matters and have particular experience in representing clients who are victims of torture, have been trafficked into the UK, and those who fear persecution in their native country. I have gained exposure in dealing with cases during their pre-action protocol stage and when judicial review proceedings have commenced.
I have my own caseload where I advise clients in their initial asylum claims and assist them in challenging decisions made by the Secretary of State for the Home Department. I am accredited as a Level 2 Senior Caseworker under the Law Society's Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme. This enables me to have conduct of more complex immigration matters and represent more vulnerable individuals, including minors in their asylum claims.
I initially joined the firm in January 2016 as a Legal Costs Assistant in the Costing department, where I dealt with negotiating and recovering costs for the firm within the inter partes team. Following this, I began my training contract and completed seats in immigration, public law, and civil liberties and human rights. I qualified as a solicitor in December 2019.
