I am a Trainee Solicitor at Duncan Lewis, currently in my first seat in the Immigration team. I deal with a variety of asylum and immigration matters, and in particular, I have experience in representing clients who are victims of torture, have been trafficked into the UK and who fear persecution in their native country. I have gained exposure in dealing with cases during their pre-action protocol stage and when judicial review proceedings have commenced.
I have my own caseload where I advise clients in their initial asylum claims and assist them in challenging decisions made by the Secretary of State for the Home Department. I am accredited as a Level 2 Senior Caseworker under the Law Society's Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme. This enables me to have conduct of more complex immigration matters and represent more vulnerable individuals, including minors in their asylum claims.
I initially joined the firm in January 2016 as a Legal Costs Assistant in the Costing department, where I dealt with negotiating and recovering costs for the firm within the Inter Partes team.
I am currently studying the Legal Practice Course and MA in Business on a part-time basis at BPP Law School in Holborn and expect to complete the course in July 2018.
