Profile / Experience
I am a Caseworker in the Mental Health department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors.
The majority of the work I carry out is publicly funded and involves working alongside and assisting the fee earners in representing clients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (Ammended 2007), this included preparing cases and offering advice to clients.
I am particularly interested in issues concerning consent and the circumstances under which people can be treated regardless of consent and have closely studied Part IV of the Mental Health Act which concerns consent of treatment.
I am a supporter of justice being accessible to all regardless of individual circumstances and means, and am committed to defending society's most vulnerable who otherwise may not have the ability to defend themselves. Over three years, I have worked as a support worker for children and young adults with low functioning ASD and additional SEN during my free time.
