Profile / Experience
I am a Caseworker in the Child Care department at Duncan Lewis, having joined the firm in 2019. I currently work under the supervision of solicitor, Jane Wilson.
I work on a variety of children matters assisting parties in public and private law proceedings, including parents, grandparents and intervenors. I also assist parents in the pre-proceedings process, including public law outline (PLO) meetings and child protection conferences.
I have experience in dealing with children matters involving domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental health issues. I have also assisted on cases concerning non-accidental injuries, fabricated/fictitious illness (Manchausen’s Syndrome By-Proxy) and on cases with an international element.
I have always had a commitment to assisting vulnerable people in society, with previous pro-bono experience in the field of criminal law. I continue to undertake some pro-bono work as a caseworker. Whilst assisting with cases, I aim to provide clients with a high level of client care and to regularly keep clients updated on their matters.
I am readily available by phone and email to help clients and I work alongside my colleagues to assist clients to achieve the best outcome. I act sensitively and empathetically in all cases, understanding that matters concerning children are often distressing and fraught with emotion.
