Profile / Experience
I am a Director in Immigration department at Duncan Lewis having joined in January 2013 as a Supervising Solicitor specialising in Immigration and Public Law. My main areas of expertise are public and administrative law work which includes immigration and asylum work. I supervise a team of Solicitors, trainees and caseworkers dealing with complex immigration and public law issues.
I have extensive experience in all types of asylum and immigration cases, and have experience in obtaining injunctions and other interim relief orders for those cases requiring urgent action. I am also experienced in Judicial Review matters and have a specific interest in Judicial Review matters that challenge unlawful immigration detention, and obtaining damages for claimants.
I have extensive experience in working with a wide range of vulnerable clients, including minors and victims of torture, victims of domestic violence and victims of trafficking. In addition, I have worked closely with the Refugee Council (Children’s Panel) since 2010, assisting unaccompanied asylum seeking minors and victims of trafficking with their applications for asylum or leave to remain.
My practice extends to challenging decisions made by the Secretary of State for the Home Department and I continues to closely work with charitable organisations on a pro bono basis.
