Profile / Experience
I am a Caseworker in the Housing Department at Duncan Lewis. Although based in the Swansea branch I often work at the Cardiff branch under the supervision of Heather Iqbal Rayner.
I assist with the day to day handling of a wide range social housing law of matters including; disrepair, civil injunctions, homelessness appeals, unlawful evictions and possession matters. I also assist with public law matters including actions against the social services, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and child services.
I undertake client correspondence on behalf of the solicitors and assist in the submission of legal aid applications and court documents.
I am currently completing my Graduate Diploma in Law at Cardiff University and am hoping to continue with my legal training, in due course, by embarking upon the Legal Practice Course (LPC).
I have excellent communication and resolution skills thanks to my previous experience as a Network Operations Technician where I was frequently required to settle complex customer service queries and effectively resolve and manage customer complaints.
In addition to English I also speak and have a basic understanding of both Welsh and French. I was born and bred in Swansea and therefore have a close affinity and understanding of the people and culture of South Wales generally, something I believe to be of great importance when interacting and assisting clients from the local areas.
