Profile / Experience
I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Family and Child Care department at Duncan Lewis. I have gained considerable knowledge and experience in a wide variety of complex public law childcare matters involving Local Authority pre-proceedings process and care proceedings including non-accidental injury, assisting parents, other family members and children’s Guardians. My role within the team involves dealing with day to day case progression and client and third party correspondence under the direct supervision of director, Ravi Mahey and Solicitor, Deepa Patel.
I am particularly experienced dealing with vulnerable clients including those suffering from psychological issues, alcohol or drug addictions and victims of sexual, physical and emotional abuse. I have closely assisted solicitors with child abduction, wardship, forced marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM) cases including shadowing various counsel at court.
I am capable of working well independently and as part of a team to establish an appropriate strategy to ensure our clients can achieve the best possible outcome. I am able to adapt myself to our clients’ individual needs and provide comprehensive advice so that our client is kept well informed throughout their legal process. I regularly assist fathers at a pro bono legal advice clinic in South London.
