Jemma Gates

Jemma is passionate about protecting the rights of neurodivergent children and parents within the Court arena. Jemma has personal experience and professional experience working with individuals who are neurodivergent.

Jemma is keen to ensure those individuals are supported throughout proceedings and tailors her approach to their needs. In 2024, Jemma gained a Level 2 qualification in Understanding Autism. Jemma regularly represents parents who are neurodivergent in Care Proceedings, private children law matters and injunctive relief. Jemma is regularly instructed by the official solicitor in Family and Childcare matters.

Having completed the mentioned qualification, Jemma has a better understanding of the reasonable adjustments that can be and should be made for parents she is representing to ensure they are made to feel comfortable expressing their viewpoints and ensuring that they feel included in the decisions that will be made by the professionals and the Courts in their matters.
