Profile / Experience
I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Public Law Department at Duncan Lewis, currently doing my first seat in Court of Protection. I work with a team of Solicitors, Trainees and Caseworkers under the supervision of Director Toufique Hossain.
I primarily represent clients whose liberties have been deprived under Article 5 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) in proceedings relating to S.16 or S.21A of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. I also represent clients whose mental capacity is being disputed as per the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
I cooperate with the Official Solicitor as well as RPRs, IMCAs, Local Authorities and the Court of Protection in order to determine the client's 'best interests'.
Thanks to my previous roles assisting in the Immigration and Family Law Departments, I have an extensive knowledge and experience in the drafting and recovery of legal aid costs.
I speak several languages which enables me to communicate with a wide range of clients from various different backgrounds. I have native proficiency in Greek and Albanian, professional working proficiency in German and Spanish and a limited working proficiency in Portuguese.
