Profile / Experience
I am a Caseworker in the Housing Department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I am based in the firm's Birmingham office where I handle a range of housing matters alongside the Housing Director Lorick Winarskie. I joined the firm in November 2018 and assist with the day-to-day case progression of clients - both landlords and tenants - on a variety of publicly and privately funded housing matters. These include cases of disrepair, eviction, social housing, injunctions, homeless appeals, and possession.
I attend court for directions hearings and shadow others in order to observe how cases develop based on orders from the court and negotiations to settlement between parties.
I have previously undertaken legal and voluntary work, including assisting as a Legal Companion in various courts as part of The Community Legal Outreach Collaboration Keele (CLOCK) initiative. These matters were of a vast range and enabled me to work with many organisations including mediation experts and solicitors from several law firms across Staffordshire. I have an active role in the 'Litigants in Person Network' providing access to justice and have recently completed a legal walk in Birmingham to promote this cause.
