Amandeep Bains

I am a Solicitor in the Housing Department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors.

I deal with a range of housing law matters including homelessness, housing disrepair, possession proceedings, counter claims, claims for judicial review and unlawful evictions. I have experience in advocacy and conducting hearings in front of local authority panels and decision makers for clients. I also handle my own advocacy as a Court Duty advocate, attending County Court on a regular basis to act on behalf of tenants facing diverse and often complex possession claims.

I am committed to promoting social justice and take pride in resolving disputes and achieving the best possible outcome for clients. I have experience in representing vulnerable clients including those who suffer from mental health issues, disabilities and other difficulties.

As part of my role, I also assist a number of charities such as Bromley and Croydon Women’s Aid, Citizens Advice Bureau Hillingdon, Harlow and St Albans, and I am available to provide legal advice in my areas of specialism. I frequently contribute to legal articles and provide my legal commentary on aspects of housing law.

I have been in contact with leading media outlets and have been interviewed on National TV to discuss the impact of social housing and the effects on tenants and landlords during the current housing crisis.

I also have experience writing for legal publications at the firm and at university including the Leicester Law Review and Pro Bono Fide. I have also assisted in various university pro bono projects including advising clients with housing issues as well as making applications for clients that have been wrongfully convicted.

Through my experience at Midland Langar Seva Society, I have experience in helping vulnerable and homeless service users.
