Profile / Experience
I am a Caseworker in the Public Law Department at Duncan Lewis, based in the firm's head office in Harrow. I work with a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers under the supervision of Public Law Director Toufique Hossain.
My role involves assisting the team with the daily case progressions and client or third-party correspondence on a number of public law cases such as asylum, immigration, and human rights matters.
Prior to joining Duncan Lewis, I spent nearly ten years in the not-for-profit sector, where my specialism was media and campaigning relating to human rights issues.
At the legal charity Reprieve, I provided media support to clients who had experienced extreme human rights abuses; for example, unlawful detention at Guantanamo Bay, rendition, or the death penalty. More recently, at the women’s rights organisation ActionAid, I campaigned for improved access to justice for survivors of gender-based violence, working directly with survivors and legal experts. Earlier in my career, I was a communications specialist at a UN body that supports Palestinian refugees throughout the Middle East. I have also worked in the private sector.
