I am a Caseworker in the Public Law and Immigration Departments at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I am based at the firm's Luton office and work with a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers under the supervision of notable Director Bahar Ata.
I am highly experienced in managing certificated public law matters, including submitting applications for emergency and substantive legal aid applications, instructing counsel, preparing applications for judicial review to challenge removals, applications for the re-consideration of both asylum and trafficking matters, and applications for unlawful detention. wide portfolio of immigration and asylum work, handling the progression of a number of different matters such as asylum claims & appeals, fresh asylum claims, preparing immigration bail applications and handling DAC cases. I deal with both Legal Aid funded matters and undertake and privately funded applications.
I attend oral permission hearings and full judicial review hearings at both the Upper Tribunal and High Court in support of counsel, and I have dealt with urgent actions, part 36 offers to settle and am experienced in drafting and negotiating consent orders. I have attended conferences with Counsel, handled expert witness evidence and have instructed both counsel and expert witnesses. I have also attended hearings at both the First-tier Tribunal and the Upper Tribunal and I have rights of audience to represent client's in the First-tier Tribunal
