Profile / Experience
I am a solicitor in the Immigration department at Duncan Lewis having joined in August 2012 as a caseworker.
I have extensive experience of asylum cases involving vulnerable, detained and non-detained adults and minor applicants from various parts of the world. I have assisted on a variety of Judicial Review matters, including challenges to decisions of the Secretary of State for the Home Department to unlawfully detain and remove Claimants, and in cases being heard before the Upper Tribunal, High Court and Court of Appeal. These have included mentally ill Claimant’s challenging their fitness for detention and fitness to fly, cases involving victims of torture as well as victims of modern slavery and human trafficking, removals to European Countries under the Dublin Regulation, removals and deportations of European Economic Area (EEA)/EU nationals.
I have previously undertaken voluntary work at the Lambeth Law Centre. I have level 2 IAAS accreditation which means I have shown that I have specialist knowledge and experience in the area of Immigration law and can advise and assist publicly funded clients under the company's legal aid contract.
