Nicola graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2004 where she was awarded an academic prize. She went on to complete the LPC at the College of Law in York in 2005. Nicola then decided to exercise her spirit of adventure and embarked on a 7 month round the world trip where she enjoyed immersing herself in different cultures.

Nicola joined Duncan Lewis in November 2006 as a Caseworker. At first she specialised in general asylum and immigration work. In August 2007 she became accredited as a Senior Caseworker under the Law Society's Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme and she began to take on appeal, reconsideration, deportation, fast track and Public Law work. Nicola subsequently secured a training contract with the firm and completed 3 seats in immigration, public law and crime, drawing on and developing her previous experiences as a Caseworker. Nicola finished her training contract in June 2009 and was extremely happy to remain with the firm as an Immigration Assistant Solicitor. Nicola now works predominantly in the public law department but maintains an active interest in all areas of immigration, asylum and human rights law and remains dedicated to a career in publicly funded work.

Nicola conducts her own advocacy in front of the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal.

On a personal level Nicola enjoys playing racquet sports (particularly when she beats her other half!), attending music concerts and socialising with friends.
