Public Law

Gimhani joined the Public Law Department of Duncan Lewis in September 2011.

She has previously worked for a consultant solicitor of Scott Moncrieff and Associates LLP in Community Care and Public Law, assisting in urgent Judicial Review cases under s17 Children Act ’89.

Since joining Duncan Lewis, Gimhani has supported the Public Law team in challenging unlawful detentions and unlawful removals of asylum seekers. She is currently assisting in linked cases challenging the removals of asylum seekers to Malta, where they are likely to face breaches of their human rights.

She is also involved in conducting costings on a case on behalf of the department, where the Defendant has been ordered to pay the Claimant’s reasonable costs.

Gimhani has recently completed the IAAS MCT exams and is working towards the next level.
