New Crime Practice Manager, Ian Powell to join Duncan Lewis in January 2011 (22 October 2010)

Duncan Lewis is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Powell to join us as the Crime Practice Manager at Duncan Lewis from 4 January 2011.

Ian joins us from AP Law Solicitors in Tooting/Holborn. He brings with him 20 years of exceptional Crime practice management experience and a burning desire to further his career by assisting the Duncan Lewis in achieving its goal of being a national provider of public funded services, particularly in crime. Ian’s role will be to work with the Crime Partner’s and the Board of Director’s to strategically plan and spearhead the future growth of the Crime department. Ian also has over 2 years experience working for the Legal Services Commission.

Since 2008 the Duncan Lewis’ Crime department has expanded rapidly and now comprises of 40 staff, of which are 30 hardworking and committed Crime Duty Solicitors all accredited under the Law Society Accreditation scheme. The Crime team has a growing reputation for handling complex criminal cases including, the recent liquid bomber, terrorist case, a serial murderer and dealing with minor driving offences. Since April 2010 the company has acted for 3,000 defendants accused of a criminal offence.
