Duncan Lewis is extremely pleased to announce the recent internal appointment of Toufique Hossain as a Director of Immigration & Joint Head of Department based in the company’s City of London & Harrow branch. With over 9 Years PQE, this new role will see Toufique lead an Immigration Department that specialises in Higher Court Immigration Appeals and challenging immigration decisions by way of Judicial Review.

Toufique joined Duncan Lewis in September 2011 and has acted as lead solicitor in several high profile cases in recent years. He has developed his practice focusing on Public Law cases involving Judicial Review, unlawful detention cases and matters before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. Toufique continues to have conduct of several lead complex cases. He has conduct in unlawful detention cases involving mental health issues, Rule 35 and evidence in relation torture; lead cases challenging immigration removal directions to France, Cyprus and Malta; removals to DRC; challenges to detention involving long term detention of Chinese nationals and Afghan Charter flight cases – to name a few examples.
