Ritu qualified as a Solicitor in July 2005 and joined Duncan Lewis in April 2007 in the Mental Health team at the Harrow on the Hill office.

Ritu has been a member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Review Tribunal Panel since 2005, having gained experience within the mental health field since 2002. Only Solicitors who meet the Law Society’s exacting accreditation requirements are permitted to join the panel.

Since being in legal practice, she has worked on a variety of cases dealing with both civil sections and mentally disordered offenders. These cases have involved consideration of multiple issues including, but not limited to, that of learning difficulties, personality disorders and instruction of experts. She particularly represents clients at Mental Health Review Tribunals, Hospital Managers' Hearings and Care Programme Approach meetings, as well as visiting clients on a regular basis.

Ritu is an Advocate who endeavours to represent clients personally throughout their proceedings. She has a determination and commitment to ensuring that client receive all round support to facilitate their discharge including liasing with social welfare departments, advocates in hospitals and professionals involved in the clients case.
