Mental Health

Georgina joined Duncan Lewis & Co in October 2003 as a Caseworker within the Family Department. Georgina then progressed as a Trainee Solicitor from April 2005 and then qualified as a Solicitor in October 2006 and continued her career with the firm in the Mental Health team at the Dalston office.

Georgina specialises in Mental Health Law, although she previously practised in Criminal and Family law under her training contract.

Georgina is currently applying for membership to the Mental Health Review Tribunal Panel. Membership to this organisation shows that a practitioner has the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to advise, assist and represent clients who have been detained under the Mental Health Act. Only Solicitors who meet the Law Society’s exacting accreditation requirements are permitted to join the panel.

Since training in Mental Health Law, Georgina has been dedicated to this particular area of law and provides advice, assistance and representation to client's suffering from mental health issues. At present, Georgina mainly represents clients who wish to appeal to the Mental Health Review Tribunal against their detention under the Mental Health Act.
