Fatima qualified as a Solicitor in 2002 and joined Duncan Lewis in January 2007. Fatima has been practising Mental Health law for over 10 years.
Fatima has been a member of the Law Society Mental Health Review Tribunal Panel since 2001. Only Solicitors who meet the Law Society’s exacting accreditation requirements are permitted to join the panel. She has also been a Criminal Duty Solicitor since 2005 and has been representing clients at Police Stations and Courts. She is also a committee member of the Mental Health Association Committee. Since being in legal practice, she has worked mainly with mentally disordered offenders and some criminal appeals where mental health is an issue. At present she has a mixed caseload, including work with mentally unwell prisoners and representing lifers at Parole Board Hearings.
Fatima has a passion and commitment to ensuring that her clients receive all round support and works closely with the social welfare departments. She is an advocate who endeavours to represent clients personally throughout their proceedings.
