The Welsh Government is re-running its “Cross the line” campaign to tackle domestic violence, launching on 15 March and running until 5 April.
The campaign uses adverts to ask people to consider where the line between normal behaviour and controlling behaviour is crossed in different scenarios.
The adverts will be broadcast on ITV and S4C – and, for the first time, in cinemas across Wales, including Odeon, Vue and Cineworld, as well as Pearl and Dean cinemas such as the Parc and Dare cinema in Treorchy and the Chapter Arts cinema in Cardiff.
There will be longer, interactive versions of the campaign’s media adverts online.
The Welsh Assembly Minister for Public Services, Leighton Andrews said:
“Domestic abuse comes in many forms and doesn’t always result in bruises or broken bones – emotional abuse is also domestic abuse and should be seen as such.
“The aim of this campaign is to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of abuse in a relationship, to help victims and their friends and families understand that abuse is not ‘normal’ behaviour – and to persuade them to get the help and support they need.”
