Sundeep qualified from the University of Westminster in 2006 achieving a Upper Second Class in his Law LLB. He subsequently commenced employment at the Treasury Solicitors where he worked as a Caseworker in the Public Law department. Here he assisted Government Solicitors with the conduct of their Judicial Review and Court of Appeal matters.
In the summer of 2007, Sundeep commenced his Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London. Sundeep passed all assessments and examinations at the first attempt and obtained a Commendation. Sundeep undertook the public legal service route because of his commitment and dedication to working in the legal aid sector.
Sundeep began his legal career with Duncan Lewis in July 2008 joining as a Paralegal in the Immigration and Public Law department.
With no prior experience of Immigration and Asylum Law, Sundeep was only a handful of individuals in the country to have passed the all three parts of the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum Level 2 Accreditation exams at the first attempt within seven months of employment, by-passing Level 1 stage. Coupled with the excellent reputation Sundeep had built amongst his colleagues, clients and referrers, he commenced his training contract with the firm in April 2009 and qualified as a Solicitor in April 2011.
Sundeep now works as an Immigration Consultant and specialises in all areas of Asylum and Immigration work including, applications under the Points Based System, EEA applications, Human Rights, applications under the Immigration Rules, Asylum, Judicial Review applications, British Nationality issues, overseas applications. Sundeep also visits attends to clients in detention and advises them on their immigration status and provides assistance to those facing imminent removal from the UK. Sundeep also holds an enhanced CRB which allows him to work with the most vulnerable individuals such as unaccompanied minors and individuals sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
Sundeep undertakes his own advocacy at the Immigration and Asylum Chamber and has previously assisted client’s in relation to their asylum appeal, Human Rights appeal, bail application, refusal of student and spouse visas.
Sundeep is well known within the Gujarati community and provides pro-bono advice out of office hours.
In his spare time, Sundeep is kept occupied by regularly going to the gym and playing football and squash. Sundeep is currently in the squad of the Duncan Lewis Football team who remain champions of the Middlesex Cup for the last two consecutive years.
