Rukia graduated in 2006 with a 2:1 in Law and went on to complete her Bar Vocational Course at the College of Law in London.

Rukia has a wide range of experience in immigration, family and landlord and tenant law. In the last year, Rukia has been heavily involved in immigration litigation work, ranging from grounds of appeal to representation at the Immigration and Asylum Chamber (IAC). Rukia has represented clients from various nationalities on asylum, human rights, migrants under the points based system, naturalisation and settlement appeals.

She joined Duncan Lewis as an immigration caseworker in November 2010 and is currently working towards her level 2 Immigration caseworker accreditation.

She was attracted to Duncan Lewis due its diversity policy and career progression.
